Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the iPhone app and the web app?

Is there an Android app?
Not currently. Ember is available for iPhone and on the web.
How accurate are the calorie counts?
For branded and restaurant foods, Ember looks up published nutrition facts, so those numbers are the real ones. For home-cooked and described meals, Ember estimates from your description — the more detail you give ("about a cup of rice", "150g chicken"), the sharper the estimate. Nutrition tracking is about consistent, honest ballparks, not laboratory precision — and Ember is designed to make being consistent effortless.
Can I fix a logged meal?
Yes — either tell your coach in chat ("actually that was two slices", "delete the doughnut") or edit/delete the item directly on the food dashboard.
Does Ember give medical advice?
No. Ember provides general nutrition and fitness guidance and will not diagnose, treat, or advise on medical conditions. If you have a medical condition or specific clinical dietary needs, work with your doctor or a registered dietitian — Ember can complement that guidance, not replace it.
Do I need to subscribe to use Ember?
You can chat with Ember and track your nutrition on the free tier within usage limits. Ember Pro unlocks higher limits and Ember's most capable AI, with a free trial when you subscribe.
How do I cancel Ember Pro?
Through your Apple subscriptions: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ember → Cancel Subscription. Details in Ember Pro.
How do I delete my account or data?
Yourself, in Settings on iPhone or web — you're signed out immediately and everything is permanently deleted after a 72-hour grace window (sign back in within it to undo). Details in Account & data.
Is there a password?
No — sign-in is a one-time code emailed to you. If a code doesn't arrive or won't work, see Sign-in problems.
What can the coach actually do?
More than chat: it logs and edits food and workouts, tracks weight and steps, builds routines, remembers your preferences, searches your past conversations, analyzes your data, and draws charts. The complete list — including what it can't do — is on What your coach can do.
Is my data private?
Yes — your conversations, food logs, and workouts are yours. Read the full privacy policy. Ember never sells your personal data.
